My debut collection and Forfar Dental Care

Eighteen months ago, when I first began painting as a creative side hustle, I never imagined that I would be launching my very own collection so soon.
In fact, this all started with a commission from my colleague, Tom, and shortly afterwards Cammy, who trusted me to create my very first paid artwork. Looking back now, their votes of confidence were a pivotal moment.
What started as a hobby, fitting commissions around work and everyday life, slowly grew into something much more than I had expected. With a simple website, a modest social media presence and a growing portfolio of commissioned pieces, I was overwhelmed by the encouragement and support I received. Every kind word, shared post, recommendation and commission helped encourage me to keep creating and developing my work.
As much as I enjoyed painting commissions, I often found myself wanting to create something entirely of my own. A collection that reflected my style, my inspiration and my love of the Scottish landscape.
The opportunity arrived thanks to my friends Tory and Ian.
When Tory asked whether I would be interested in collaborating with Forfar Dental Care, and displaying a collection of my work in the practice, I jumped at the chance. It felt like the perfect opportunity to challenge myself, create a cohesive body of work and share it with visitors that walk through their doors.
For that opportunity, I am incredibly grateful.
Not only have they literally given my work a wall to live on, but they gave me the push I needed to take this next step. Their support has helped bring this project to life, and I am truly delighted that the collection will make its debut in such a fantastic local business, which I know my friends have worked so hard to create.
Scotland in Miniature, is a small but meaningful collection of six original landscape paintings inspired by the beautiful scenery of Angus.
Although modest in size, every piece in the collection has been carefully considered. Each painting captures a different glimpse of the landscapes that make this part of Scotland so special, from the seaside to the rolling countryside and into the hills.
Alongside the original paintings, I am also releasing a limited edition run of just ten signed prints of each artwork. With such small editions, I hope people will be keen to own and enjoy a piece from what marks a significant milestone in my artistic journey.
I am immensely proud of Scotland in Miniature. It may be a mini, but it represents a huge personal achievement. It reflects countless hours of painting, learning, experimenting and building confidence over the past eighteen months.
Most importantly, it represents the incredible support I have received from those around me. You know who you are.
As the collection launches, I feel a mixture of excitement, gratitude and nerves. Sharing something so personal is always daunting, but I hope it will also be incredibly rewarding.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for following the journey so far. Here's to the first collection, and hopefully many more to come!!
